Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026
1. Introduction
WhatsHush ("we", "us", or "our") is dedicated to providing privacy tools for WhatsApp Web. We value your trust, which is why our software has been architected under a strict local-first philosophy. We do not operate external application servers, databases, or cloud processing layers.
2. Data Collection Policy
WhatsHush does not collect, upload, store, or transmit any of your personal data or communications.
- Chat Messages: None of your chat messages, drafts, or media files are read by or transmitted to any external source.
- Contacts & Groups: Phone numbers, profiles, and contact lists processed by the extension during bulk sending or scheduling reside solely inside your browser environment.
- Credentials: We do not collect or store credentials or session cookies. The extension operates completely within the context of your active, authenticated WhatsApp Web session.
3. Local Storage and APIs
To provide scheduling, bulk broadcasting, and privacy toggle configurations, the extension uses Google Chrome's standard storage API:
chrome.storage.local: This API is used to store your preference toggles (such as blurring profiles, names, or messages) and queuing details for scheduled messages. This data is stored sandbox-isolated on your computer.
4. Third-Party Services and Analytics
WhatsHush does not integrate with third-party analytics platforms, trackers, telemetry services, or cookies. We do not monitor how you use the extension.
5. Security of Stored Data
Because all active extension data is saved directly on your local device, the security of this data matches the security of your personal computer and browser profile. We recommend keeping your Google Chrome browser updated to the latest security release and securing your computer with standard passwords or biometric keys.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to align with new extension releases. Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" timestamp.
7. Contact & Support
Since WhatsHush is open-source and local-first, you can inspect the entire code repository or open support issues directly on our GitHub Repository.
